Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 4 May 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy outlines prohibited behaviours when using Sorted (sortedapp.ai). Violation of this policy may result in account suspension or termination without refund.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not upload photos or content that:
- You don't own or have permission to use (e.g., photos stolen from other sellers, brand websites, or stock photo sites)
- Violates copyright or trademark rights (e.g., official brand product photos, designer logos used without authorisation)
- Contains illegal goods (counterfeit items, stolen property, regulated substances)
- Contains adult or sexual content (lingerie/underwear listings are fine if tasteful; explicit imagery is not)
- Contains violence, hate speech, or discriminatory content
- Contains personal data of others without consent (e.g., photos with identifiable faces, addresses, phone numbers)
- Is defamatory, threatening, or harassing
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Abuse API quotas or rate limits (e.g., uploading thousands of photos in rapid succession to overwhelm the system)
- Share your account credentials with others (unless on a Business/Team plan with multi-user access)
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data from Sorted
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or hack Sorted's code, algorithms, or infrastructure
- Attempt to bypass payment (e.g., creating multiple free accounts to avoid subscription fees)
- Resell or white-label Sorted without written permission from Green Soles
- Use Sorted for fraudulent purposes (e.g., money laundering, tax evasion, scam listings)
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Interfere with other users (e.g., attacking the leaderboard system, spamming support channels)
3. Responsible AI Use
Sorted uses AI (OpenAI GPT-4o Vision) to analyse photos. You agree to:
- Review all AI-generated listings for accuracy before uploading to eBay or any marketplace
- Understand that AI can make mistakes (brand misidentification, incorrect sizing, etc.)
- Not rely solely on AI output for final listing decisions
- Comply with eBay's policies (or any other marketplace you use)
Sorted is a tool to assist you, not a replacement for human judgment. You are responsible for all listings you upload.
4. Respect for Third-Party Services
You are responsible for:
- Your OpenAI API key usage and costs — ensure you comply with OpenAI's Terms of Service
- Your eBay account and listings — Sorted does not control eBay's acceptance or rejection of listings
- Compliance with all marketplace policies (eBay, Vinted, Depop, etc.)
5. Fair Use & Resource Limits
While we aim to accommodate all legitimate use cases, we reserve the right to:
- Rate-limit API requests if your usage is abnormally high or disruptive
- Suspend accounts that consume excessive server resources
- Implement additional safeguards to prevent abuse (CAPTCHA, email verification, etc.)
If you have legitimate high-volume needs (e.g., processing 10,000+ items/month), contact us to discuss custom solutions.
6. Reporting Violations
If you suspect another user is violating this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to: alex.greenhalgh@live.co.uk
Include:
- Username of the suspected violator (if visible, e.g., on leaderboard)
- Description of the violation
- Evidence (screenshots, links, etc.)
7. Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Warning: First-time minor violations may result in a warning email
- Temporary suspension: Serious violations may suspend your account for 7-30 days
- Permanent termination: Repeated or severe violations (fraud, illegal content, hacking) result in immediate account deletion without refund
- Legal action: In cases of criminal activity, we will cooperate with law enforcement
We aim to be fair and transparent. If you believe you've been wrongly suspended, email alex.greenhalgh@live.co.uk to appeal.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Sorted after changes constitutes acceptance.
This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
